Holy **** a lot of salvage sport bikes are going for a couple hundred dollars... I could totally grab a ton of parts and a working motor off of one of these for the project. Wiring harness, all engine parts, ECU, some lighting type things, whatever else.
This may be a good route to go. Not sure really, but any used bike motor would have come off of one of these anyway. Here's one example:

Sadly enough, I just had "cheap parts" in my head and didn't even consider that... Whelp, guess his loss is my gain!

Yeah... have you seen the post (I think) by Andrew P Collins from when he got in a motorcycle accident with just normal clothes (T-Shirt, Jeans, Helmet) on? If you haven't, don't go looking for it... if you do, be aware it is *NSFL* to the highest degree... though not as much as the 4chan idiots' gifs ;)

250$ broker fee... Internet bid fee (variable), Gate fee (30$), 10$ copart mailing fee, 35$ broker mailing fee, transaction fee which on this bike would be $75. And then you gotta pay for the subscription to be able to buy from these guys.
Im worried with all these fees, you may only end up breaking even.

Well, to be fair, I probably wouldn't go through this specific website, just knowing that these are all out there helps.
But even still, $1k in and I'd already be ahead.

I guess it depends on the bike. But it really sucks they make you have to jump through all those expenses hoops. I was getting my hopes up too, a yzf600r with minimal damage was only 200 bucks as well. I need a swingarm and wheel from one of those.

let me tell you exactly how many
7
VERY few ppl ride in canada thanks to the snow, and those who get into accident either are too afraid to get back on a bike (and the older bike gets crushed) or they die on the bike and the bike really is too far gone.

yea. I remember (I think it was K-roll) saying how his insurance for his foST is soemthing like 2.3k a year? and IIRC, hes 18
I'm 20, and insurance for a foST for me is something like 5k a year.
NOT to mention gas costs much more up here and our used car prices are frankly, fucking ridiculous.
